Product details

  • SKU SmCo-R001S
  • Pull Force*

The Pull Force listed for each magnet is based on lifting 10mm thick steel from a horizontal surface. Magnets on a vertical surface (of 10mm thick steel) are generally able to hold around only 30% of the pull force listed in the product description. This is due to the effects of gravity and the lack of friction between the surface and the shiny magnet. Read More

Magnetic Product Description:

This SmCo magnet has an outside diameter of 20mm, an inside diameter of 5.2mm (suitable with M5 threads), and a thickness of 10mm. It has a pull force of 7kg. South pole on the countersunk face. It is identified by the AMF magnet part number SmCo-R001S.

Uses for our rare earth ring magnets:

Samarium cobalt is a type of rare-earth magnet that has the ability to withstand and operate in high temperatures, however, they are not as powerful as super-strong Neodymium magnets. Because of their high maximum operating temperature, they are commonly used in applications such as motors and electric motors, turbomachinery, and sensors. What’s more, because they have a superior resistance to corrosion they are ideal for using outside.

Countersunk magnets with opposite poles on the countersunk face can be used to attract two surfaces or two opposing countersunk magnets with the same pole on the countersunk face can be used to create a damping, shock absorbing or repelling effect.
