  • SKU AMFYPA16N/S
  • Pull Force*

The Pull Force listed for each magnet is based on lifting 10mm thick steel from a horizontal surface. Magnets on a vertical surface (of 10mm thick steel) are generally able to hold around only 30% of the pull force listed in the product description. This is due to the effects of gravity and the lack of friction between the surface and the shiny magnet. Read More

Magnetic Product Description:

This pair of Rare Earth Pot Magnet have a diameter of 16mm, a countersunk hole diameter of 3.5mm to 6.5mm and a thickness of 5mm. Each pot magnet a pull force of 5kg and a weight of 7 grams, one has a south facing pole and the other has a north facing pole. The steel cap redirects the magnetic flux of one of the magnetic poles to the other side of the magnet, creating a significantly increased holding capacity. It is identified by AMF Magnet part number AMFYPA16N/S.

Uses for our Rare Earth Countersunk Pot Magnets:

Pot Magnets have a steel cap that increases their strength and protects the magnet inside from damage. These paired and countersunk items are designed so their opposing North and South poles attract to each other. This means ferrous material or metallic surfaces are no longer a requirement in the formation of a magnetic bond. These magnets with paired poles make it possible to attract and attach any type of material to any other magnetically, and these materials can include plastic, timber, acrylics and various other non-ferrous items. Countersunk screws will attach the magnets correctly so the poles are opposing and this arrangement means the magnets will attract to each other. Magnetic hold can be released simply and easily when needed and this provides a degree of convenience and also practicality to many applications. Reattaching items with magnetic hold is intuitive, instantaneous and can be repeated again and again with consistency and accuracy. Typical applications include door and drawer closure systems but the ways to use these pole-matched magnets is virtually endless. Neodymium magnets are powerful for their size and provide a significant amount of hold within their relatively small surface areas. This helps disguise their presence inside surfaces and materials and can add an air of mystery to the way items or products attach or appear to be invisibly suspended.
